  • ( ) Zoot Enterprises Makes It Look ''Easy Being Green''

    During 2007, Zoot participated in several events to benefit the environment. Consumer electronics contain high amounts of lead and other contaminants, which may be responsible for 40 percent of the lead found in landfills. To keep e-waste out of landfills and prevent further contamination, Zoot employees sponsored and volunteered at an event that ultimately collected more than 80 tons of unwanted equipment and computers, which were later taken to a recycling center. Additionally, Zoot has a computer-refurbishing program for local schools, day care facilities and nonprofit organizations. Due to the sensitive data managed by Zoot, hard drives are destroyed when no longer being used for business purposes. Zoot purchases new hard drives for computer equipment that is being replaced and passes the refurbished equipment along to organizations in need. More>>
